Cardington's war dead

OLIVER DAVIES

OLIVER DAVIES (No: 124106) was born in Cardington, the son of Herbert and Ann Davies (latterly of Lawley, Longnor). He enlisted in Ironbridge into the Royal Artillery.

He was killed in action in France/Flanders (location unknown) on 13 August 1917, aged 20, whilst serving with the 331st Siege Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery.

He is buried in Maroc British Cemetery, Grenay, near Bethune (grave reference II.K.6). As at 11.11.01 we do not have a photograph of his headstone.
